An open letter to the executives

i really fucking agree with this. it's about damn time we took some action to try and change the rules here. i've been begging for not only a change in the executive team, but a change in the admin team as well. it's about damn time.

EDIT: I'd like to add onto this as well. Along with a change in the executive team, as in removing the inactive ones that haven't even glanced  at the forums in the past month, I'd like to finally implement the idea that we need to stop accepting everybody as an admin.

Not only is the server going down, but it's because of the shitty people we constantly recruit. I want to turn a new leaf, get rid of the abusive old, and keep what we have.  Please, for the love of god, please stop letting people apply. Stop have year-round super admin applications when the team we have now is perfectly qualified. 

There is no reason in the world to constantly bring in new people to the admin team when the one we have now is about 40-50% of our playerbase. Stop. At this point, it's not just free-op, it's almost guaranteed free admin if you behave well enough and are intelligent enough.

Please. I'm sick of bringing in idiotic, abusive and power-hungry newbies just because they're wanting the title admin. And I'm sick of seeing a new admin application every day, I'm sick of seeing our admin team grow to at least 50 players. There's no need for these many admins when we get a maximum of 30 players on a good day. Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk.

Alright, I've been waiting for this one.

You say it's "really annoying seeing so much hate", although I don't think anybody here 'hates' inFAmas as a person. The problem is the way that he performs his executive roles, and it is perfectly fair to scrutinize that. Then you say that the thread shouldn't have even been made, and should've just been handled in messages. Basically, just the old "move it to PM" which has been circulated in meta discussions here for the past 4 years. Notice though, of all the times that somebody has used that argument, handling these problems in PM has never actually solved something. It's gotten to the point where it is important to have these discussions in public.

Then you drop the biggest buzzword in the 8 years history of this server, 'drama'. While it is fair to call this drama, it creates the usual logical fallacy that any drama is inherently unnecessary or bad. This is not true. When there are multiple threads of people presenting ways to reform the executive system, there is a gaping problem and that cannot just be shut down by calling it unnecessary drama. You also call it childish and unprofessional, and while that would be nice the executives aren't exactly handling these issues in a professional way in the first place. It has gotten to the point where we *need* to do this.

The problem is that if we handled problems your way then nothing would get done. If we just pm'd inFAmas kindly presenting our issues, nothing would actually change. We need to create these threads and have talk about this in public and make sure that the executives are well aware that we demand actual change, we can't just have a polite tea party where we raise our pinkies and never swear.

We need to do things one thing at a time, and the most pressing issue right now is the executive team that basically filibusters all ideas to change and fix the actual problems here. After we deal with that, we can worry about changing the other issues.
