I agreed with you up until you said admins should be rewarded for doing something they volunteered to do. If you can handle the extra responsibility, thank you for helping out. If you want "rewarded" for something you aren't being forced to do, you can go fuck your hat. (This isn't directed to you specifically) It makes sense in a way, though. You might very well make a server that makes the life of staff as miserable as possible, but you'll simply be short on staff. If you want to increase the amount of staff, you create incentive by presenting rewards. The controversial part we're going through in this discussion occurs when you remove existing rewards to decrease the amount of staff. This isn't relevant to this topic whatsoever, but so far since these debacles started last year you've provided a lot of contrarian points while avoiding to talk about your actual opinion on these general issues. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's interested in what your actual stances are on all of these debacles, but it would be interesting if you provided them rather than only providing opposition.

Is contrarian the new buzz word or something?

If you've been observant enough to notice that, you will also have been observant enough to notice that I equally often do state my opinion on a given topic. Additionally, you will have noticed that many of those posts including the one you quoted do not actually contain an opinion at all, but rather a neutral statement to elicit a more elaborate explanation. I do not consider that contrarianism, but acting as a neutral party to further the discussion, but it seems that such a concept is unheard of. I am not interested in seeing the final solution reflect my personal opinion to the maximum extent possible, but in finding a compromise based on a discussion of what is best instead of a discussion on which opinion is the most popular.
