When it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they say, "We are but reformers."

In my opinion, this quality > quantity plan is missing one big step. An on-going admin problem we've had is that admins are piling on and on and being promoted to senior (in some cases with ease.) Who remembers when there were like 9 seniors, and even that was considered to be too much? Compared to that, we have a completely absurd amount of Senior Admins. To prevent this from continuing, we need to lock all promotions. In the past, there wasn't enough support to stop admins from being promoted because the admins who needed to support it also wanted to be promoted. Now seems like the perfect time to do this since those admins can't stop it we're also making other big and much needed changes to the admin system.

I personally agree that senior applications (and all promotions in general) need to be locked/removed. I believe the goal currently is to drastically reduce the amount on which these rounds will occur, which is sort of a half measure in my mind, but I believe it will work for now. More purges will occur, to further vet how many admins we should have, and how active they should be. By that point, this new system may work, but it is not ideal right now.

I agree with Wilee
I don't see how it hurts to have 15 people keep their Admin rank as an honour. If this is implemented, then I believe that the difference between OP and Admin should be looked at, because there are big differences when it comes to the restrictions an OP face compared to an Admin. I'm fine with not being an Admin, because I haven't actively adminstrated in years, but I won't continue to play on the server unless ops get more freedom when it comes to playing on the server. And what will happen to Admins who actively post on the forums yet perform no tasks of an Admin? It'd be ludicrous to keep them as Admin as well, if you're going to remove the vast majority of Admins for inactivity.
What will happen if Madgeek or Mark return to the server? Mark has listed both of them as Charter Admins, so I don't see why they should be treated differently, but then it would be quite ridiculous if the founders of the server were not to regain some sort of an Adminstrative role unless they were to reinstate and have the possibility of being rejected.

You don't deserve a shiny admin rank because you're an old admin. An honorary title listing your 'prestige' or 'longevitiy' is enough. If someone is not an admin (as in, administrating ingame), then why do they need to have an admin rank? Madgeek and Mark never administrated ingame, and they won't now, so I consider that to be a fairly irrelevant comparison. If they want to be an admin, they can earn it like everyone else, or they can just continue to hold their honorary title.

But this was before the implementation of executives. Executives essentially function as how seniors used to.

Is anything going to be done to the Op rank? And what will happen to forum-active-only-Admins?

Most I saw was them coming on one every month and giving everyone money. That's not administrating.

What "OP" rank. There is no "OP rank". Being an OP is the same thing as being a member. Forum-only admins will eventually being removed as this is a minecraft server. If you can't be active on the minecraft server itself why are you a minecraft server admin on it at all?

If you're not an Admin, then you are effectively handicapped in everything you do on the server. And yes, op is indeed a rank. And you didn't read my comment. I said that I would be fine with losing Admin, since I don't adminstrate, but I won't be here for long if nothing happens to how ops are treated.

If you're not an Admin, then you are effectively handicapped in everything you do on the server. That's what we're trying to change. The goal is to give players an actual reason to stay as a player, and not as an admin. We are planning to change the way in which OPs are treated. If you really care about how OPs are treated, you should have tried to do something about it before you faced the prospect of being removed as an admin. Personally, I have long been in favor of treating the OPs better. If you are upset because you're going to be handicapped without admin, but don't care to actually fix that while admin, then you are the exact problem with this server.

What about the Admin World? if the entire point of being Admin is to adminstrate, then why would a world dedicated to building still be here? Why not keep a dedicated world for Master builders, where they can make maps, and then get a new survival/plot-world?

I clearly said you can still have fun but you have to be willing to stop what you're doing and help. And, I don't know. Why should we not keep the master builder world? It was your original idea to get rid of it.
