There's already been a suggestion on the organization of ranks in the past, but they've either been lost to time or nothing has been done about them. In our present age there's no legitimate reason for keeping the rank of "telnet admin" since the widespread use of powerful mobile phones has allowed us to administrate in a chat-based environment and higher-ups now have a panel account. It's not nearly as important as it used to be, and for the same reasons "telnet clan" has been ditched. Having a rank which now only serves as an intermediary between super and senior is redundant. Instead of creating ranks that function as stepping stones, the application process for other ranks should be revised, and it has. Applicants for senior are now chosen out of a bunch which limits the amount of lower-ranking staffmembers going into the higher position.
The naming scheme of "super admin" and "senior admin" in my opinion is tacky and has little purpose today except for nostalgia. If we are to revitalize this server then practicality must be chosen over nostalgia and using the names "moderator" (for super) and "administrator" (for senior) is superior branding. Supers focus on player relations and "moderate" the server whereas seniors handle those below them (are capable of suspension) and "administrate" the team. These are the normative for other servers and for online community workflow as a whole. Less seriously, "super admin" is a tacky name and there's no "unsuper" equivalent given that it's the default rank of admin.
In short: let's remove "telnet admin," give telnet permissions to regular supers, and change the names given to our ranks. Let's rename "super admin" to "moderator" and "senior admin" to "administrator" on all platforms. For the purpose of clarification, I am not suggesting we remove the telnet protocol. I believe it's redundant but that's for another day.
If you are of the telnet position and object to this because you don't want to lose what you've worked for, remember that this suggestion will allow for you to keep your powers and continue to be one step away from the higher rank. If you're objecting as a telnet because you want to remain part of an exclusivity club, I urge you to recognize that your rank's removal would simplify this server's hierarchy and streamline how we handle things.
