For the huge amount of policies this server has, I've always found all of them reasonable, except one: the resignation policy. Why does it matter if we use the words "resignation", "retirement", "quit", "gone" (quoting from the policy)? They're not swear words. I don't think we should have any kind of policy attached to those words. Of course, we have this policy because we don't want massive drama when someone leaves. But then the policy could also just say "Creating drama using an inactivity notice will result in a punishment." The content of the punishment is already in the current policy, namely waiting 30 days to reinstate and resetting the waiting time for the next promotion. Having special words that somehow indicate drama is just overcomplicating things. If an admin wants their rank removed immediately, they can ask any forum admin. I think creating a special resignation notice for that is making a mountain out of a molehill, and that's not the fault of the admin, but the fault of the policy for encouraging that. totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/15801/admin-inactivity-deactivation-request-2016

Vouch. I absolutely hate this policy. It has caused so much needless drama.

Vouch. This policy didn't make any sense to me from the start. The policy is honestly more likely to start 'drama' than an actual resignation.

I think modifying it to remove the consequences of a resignation would be better than removing the policy. Admins that rage-quit with a bunch of drama on purpose should still be punished.

If they're never coming back who gives a monkeys? They'd still need to go through the reinstatement process at which point you can object as much as you want...
