The man was a doctor, he had patients who could've died if he missed that plane, I would've taken the risk if I was the one getting slammed into the floor and drugged.

Yes of course it was United's fault for overbooking and requiring for one of the customers to be removed but the most logical response from a passenger would be to leave the plane and then formally file a complaint, whether it be towards United Airlines itself or in a lawsuit, rather than physically try to remain there. And he didn't, so the obvious response is to then use force /s

So to you it's okay for security (not a legal police force making it even more illegal than it already is) to beat the shit out of someone because they randomly chose that some guy (who is a fucking doctor which makes it even worse) who paid for his flight and did absolutely nothing wrong to have to leave the plane because of a mistake the company made? No by that logic Walmart should start murdering their customers with assault rifles because "there are too many people in the store" or whatever. It was airport police, essentially the same thing. To "beat the shit out of someone" is an overstatement, he literally tried to resist removal they only intended to remove him, and when you are struggling in the way that he was, you have to expect that he's gonna hit something. Being a doctor shouldn't mean anything in this situation, unless he planned his trip so poorly that he didn't give himself any buffer time at all, which is also partly on him. According to 0 witness testimonies did he physically resist. Mainly because he never got the chance to, they said "you have to leave" he said "no" and then they forcefully did so which resulted in his face being smashed against a seat handle and his body being dragged the rest of the way. How would it be his fault at all? That doesn't even make any sense. They boarded the plane, everyone who paid was on and then they said "well guess what, we need 4 seats for our employees so woops. Guess if none of you want to take our lowball offer of money, then we're going to have to "randomly" (1) select some people" (1) Randomly, based on whatever would lose them the least amount of money.

I just read an article and they got to pay 1.6 billions because of that incident.
No clue if it's true; I just read that.

This is an absolute and utter disgrace. The flight was only overbooked because airline employees wanted to join the flight, obviously, presumably a decision made after the seats were already booked. He was brutally removed from his seat, so that the airline's own staff could take a seat. Why the hell should paying customers be inconvenienced when it's the airline's fault? The employees should have taken another flight. But the worst thing... In the video, you hear a man screaming "Good work guys, good work!". Ridiculous. I hope that man sues them to within an inch of their financial lives. Boycott this appalling airline and never ever use them again.

When Airlines overbook and remove passengers, don't they give them a free hotel, access to their lounge, and a flight for the following day? Correct me if I am wrong.
All I know about the airlines passenger is that he was Asian and is apparently a doctor but has a criminal record for possession and distribution of drugs to people for sex. I'll find the source if and when I can.

"Fly United Airlines- If we can't beat our competitors, we'll beat our customers!", "Enter as a doctor, leave as a patient", "United Airlines: you can't spell hospitality without hospital", "if there's no more seating, prepare for a beating". i know this is serious but my fucking sides lmao i didn't research this at all but i think if they really needed him off they could have calmly asked him to leave and then get him another flight or something instead of forcefully removing him from his seat and throwing him out also when i first heard of this i thought it was a terrorist who hijacked an american airlines flight and dragged people out of the plane while it was flying and threw them off it i get my news from twitter memes, so

So judging by some other comments, you guys think one guy getting 'assaulted' and then everyone throws it out of proportion deserves people to stop flying with them and to maybe them go out of business? That seems a bit fucked. I'm sure they fired those who did it, who deserved it for not getting real police. Besides that, this shit shouldn't continue.

Ey any excuse to fly Delta instead of United But in all seriousness, if this was an isolated incident I would have let it go much easier, but we have to remember that they only just recovered from the storm that they caused after they kicked 2 young girls off the plane because they were wearing leggings and that's 'too sexual for them'. But I'm a Delta SkyMiles gold member, so maybe I'm biased lol

That was the YouTuber Adam Saleh and his brother, he was kicked off for being an assole to his fellow passengers, he used the Arabic thing as a scapegoat to cause a scene and draw attention to himself, and to claim he was the one being victimized even though he deserved to be kicked off the plane.

Private security ? police They slammed him on the ground, causing him to hit the arm rest and to bleed. He was then dragged out. Not to mention the humiliation of being a full grown man being dragged out by security, nose bloodied, and shirt lifted. Being a doctor means that he has a tight schedule. He had to go to work the following day. "Not giving himself buffer time" is BS. He shouldn't have to. He booked a flight and his seat was confirmed. He shouldn't have to worry about being removed from it. United Airlines CANNOT remove him and no excuse will justify what they did. I wonder if some people just find it cool to be "unique" and argue against what is so blatantly obvious. Airport security have the right to arrest someone and other federal duties. He chose to resist the orders of security guards to tell him to leave, what do you expect them to do, just let you sit there? Nearly every other job also has a tight schedule, what if the next guy they picked happened to do something important? Do you keep on going until you find someone you can mark as useless? They can, it's their plane.

Didn't know airport police work for the government... That's just not true at all. Oh right a company mistake is his fault now, good job. Company at fault for creating the circumstance, man at fault for his own injuries, could've easily stepped off the plane and filed a lawsuit against United.
