My mom is absolutely pissed right now, she has made several facebook posts about COVID-19. She's mad that Six Flags, Main Event, and a concert she wanted to go to have been cancelled. As of now she's going to see if she can even find anything for dinner

all the schools nearby have been closed, all colleges including mine have classes cancelled (including online)
all events are done, either behind closed doors or they're just canceled/postponed
walmart has nothing within, no paper, no bleach, and hell, no food
my dads store is running out of food and has no water
honestly it's like having a hurricane coming towards your town but at a much greater scale

As of now she's going to see if she can even find anything for dinner Karen needs to hop off Facebook and realize the real world implications of a disease that has a 14% death rate for those 80+. That's 12.5% of the American population. Her concert can wait, she might not be in an at risk population but being in a large gathering helps to spread it & increases the chances of someone in an risk group getting it. As for "even find anything for dinner", western countries have had 3 months to prepare for this. If you're just scrambling now, that's your own fault ?

There is a strong possibility that my father just contracted it. He works 15 minutes away from an infected area and he's been showcasing symptoms.

Even though what I mentioned wasn't all of why my mom is mad right now. My dad and I right now are kind of just not minding the fact that lots of stuff is cancelled. My sisters on the other hand also don't really mind (they're 21 and 24), but they do notice the fact that stores are empty, and my mom had a reason for "just scrambling now", which I won't really mention. Btw her name is Frances xD

That's why everything is simultaneously fine because we're under a capitalist economy, and why everything is also horrible because we're under a socialist economy. Read up on quantum-socialized mechanics for more information.

Nobody could've predicted this silly old pandemic-- except of course, yours truly.

Linear Scale: Logarithmic scale: US is fucked. Will probably become much worse than Italy.
