I'm not disagreeing, I'm just saying what's happened to me in the past when having similar arguments... If the thread is locked, that should be the end of it is always the clear message I've got over the past few months, and was one of the reasons I decided to step back, and as I say I only came on today to look for an old post of mine and stumbled into this car crash. Just pointing out the double standards of moderation on here.

I get that, but I'm sure he thought his situation was a little different, as everyone does when they're on the defensive... Again I'm not here to judge who's right and who's wrong, frankly I could care less what happens at this point, but I just like to point these things out, because people tend to find that the rules are great until you find yourself on the wrong side of them.

But again, this ENTIRE thing goes back to the point I have made time and time again, of someone needing to make a call on what exactly the structure of this server should be, and how it should work. Right now it's clear it's dependent on who supports the ideas and often who makes the threads... A lot of the time the same suggestion slightly re-written gets passed when one person writes it rather than the other for example, and we've ended up (IMO) bloating the structure of this server to the point where everyone wants to have their 5mins of power play...

We all have our ideals, and how we think things should be done, and when you have as many layers and ranks as this server now does, that ends up getting really hard to manage, and ultimately this is all around expectation setting, both for players and for staff, personally I expect every suggestion I post will get shit on and ignored, because I'm often made out to be the bad inactive senior admin that is out to take over the server, so therefore I tend not to continue in a meaningful way or at all anymore. It's no different for everyone else, we've set the expectations that there is all this progression and all these ranks and things you can be called, when in reality so much of it is just a title for a titles sake.

Tbh context sorta makes me wanna defend Seth more at this point... Nobody at any point took him remotely serious, and instead of going "Okay, what can do we do change this perception" or "How can we help prove this isn't the case" everyone went straight to covering their own arses... Like, to me, regardless of if it were true before, this gives the vibe that it's collective arse covering at this point and trying to blame Seth for wanting to tackle a problem that people raised with him regardless of if it is a problem or not.

Tbh it feels like this entire situation was pretty poorly handled all around, I'm not entirely sure what people want to do to resolve this, because I just can't see it happening...

Like... It seems pretty clear from his first like 10 messages that he's not fucking around and it's a serious thing that is playing on his mind... I don't know the context of what that chat usually discusses, but it feels pretty obvious that it's not just a piss take..?

EDIT - And also, if you thought it was a joke, why did everyone there default to "Well I'm not abusive, I'm perfect so don't fire me please"... Instant reaction was ass covering, which frankly isn't what I'd expect of an executive on here anyway... There's defending yourself and then there's just trying to retain power at any cost.
