Anti virus software generally isn't worth running anyway. I have to agree with this, I dont run AV, but every few weeks ill get a portable version of AVG and give it a go. Never found anything. |

I've been using Bitdefender. - But lately I just don't bother anymore.

I don't run antivirus software regularly. Instead, I use common sense and avoid malicious websites and illegal warez files. Whenever I do run something that may harm my operating system, I sandbox the software with VMWare preventing it from 'attacking' or spreading onto my normal system.
I do in fact have premium MalwareBytes, but it isn't always running AntiVirus. Instead only website protection ('Web Protection'), and a scan everyday at 2:00am.
I'd recommend using a plugin called MyWOT <http://MyWot.com/> for user based opinions on if a website is safe or not. MyWOT has 100 million plus users, with a strong community. This community is worldwide, mainly English and Russian based.

Thing is if you're smart about what you do you don't need a av anyway, especially since most people use crypters a lot more now. |

Exactly, and if I have suspicions about a program or file, I just run it through virus total. I do loads of shady stuff as well. But I think I do have a virus currently, but meh. |

Lol thats another thing, most people assume that a virus will destroy your computer but some have been known to help your computer because they can't do anything to a broken machine. |
