I don’t think Wilee’s ban was fair due to the fact that at no point in the server conduct policy is it stated that permbanned players are protected from being DOX’d. I am not condoning DOX’ing – I am saying that in order for you to ban a player, you must first have that player break an existing rule, and not just a rule you make up on the spot because it fits your agenda. And no, arguing that the rule was already in place on the discord is not relevant to the discussion – if you join the server and read the Total Freedom conduct policy, you would still be able to get banned because you didn’t read the Discord policy, even though you are not required to have a Discord server. This is a MineCraft server, hence the actual SERVER’s conduct policy should be what is described as the supreme rule of the community, and if any conflicting rules on the two other media (forums, discord) are in conflict with the server’s conduct policy.
I think it was highly inappropriate to lock the discussion from happening when at no point has any serious war started on the thread, and there was still an active discussion going on. If you don’t want to see the “bickering”, as some put it, then you can simply not click on the thread and read it. If you can’t handle reading a few paragraphs in a debate on whether or not Admin abuse is happening, then perhaps the ban appeal board is not your thing. Therefore the only conclusion as to why you might want to close down the discussion is because you don’t want to any opposing viewpoints in the community. And if you zeseryu ban me for making this thread, this only further proves my point.
You said in the previous thread that powerposting = pointless threads, well the point of all the threads have been quite apparent: I, and many others are unsatisfied with the way the permban of Video and Wilee was handled, and we should be more than free to espouse our opinions on this public forum. I have yet to break ANY FORUM POSTING GUIDELINES. I want this thread placed in GENERAL DISCUSSION, because I want a serious discussion on the matter without having asinine comments and powerposting ruin the nature of the debate.
I still call for the unbanning of both Video and Wilee, and also now for the reprimanding of users who have now engaged in thread-hijacking, powerposting and censorship of forum posts that were in no way in violation of the forum guidelines. It is irrelevant as to if you disagree with me or not - I am allowed to make this thread.
