It has proven time and time again to more of a inconvenience then anything. Random players are being banned due to this error and those who do not have a forums account may not be able to play on the server every again. That's why I'm making this suggestion. I feel we should remove the VPN Block, at least until it's more reliable and stable.

I think there’s a very legitimate purpose for this plugin in that it prevents mass spambot attacks that crash the server. At the same time, I think it should be easier to get VPN IPs whitelisted, like by solving a captcha or something of the sorts.

It's not a plugin, it's one of TFM's feature that Seth implemented but instead of checking if the IP is flagged as a VPN, it's checking the list from the file that Seth created. |

My issue with 'VPN Bans' is you can't technically tell the difference between a VPN and not a VPN... A lot of the lists people use are just wild guesses and it's bloody annoying at the best of times.

I think that it was probably useful on implementation but now that we have 24/7 premium which eliminates non premium spambotting, or even the fact that we don’t really have ‘serial’ trolls like we used to. Maybe we should have it to where we can toggle it, so if a time comes where we have another frequent, or panther, or xyz troller, we can turn it back on. Also, maybe we could fine tune things to pickup on VPNs better.
