I'd run an anti virus just to check. My brother used to have a search bar like that and his PC eventually had a bunch of files randomly deleted, eventually bricking the PC. I'd get that checked ASAP Most AV software does not do all that well with removing PUPs and adware. That is why separate software exists for that such as MalwareBytes, AdwCleaner, etc. How is IOBit's uninstaller a PUP? Please explain. forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/228094-iobit-battle-and-drama/This is soon to be what it will be like in my brain when my PC gets bricked: Your PC won't get "bricked" if you run AdwCleaner, plus a MalwareBytes scan. I've done this on a lot of PCs to clean up exactly the same kind of problem you're having now. Okay, so at least its not a type of malware (or whatever) that deletes .dll files or some other very important files. What are the costs of if i dont quarantine it? (Just a question.)

If you're talking about WebDiscover, the costs of not quarantining it range from being mild to wild. - Because it's "free", you bet your ass they're gonna collect information about you and sell it to god knows who.
- It will definitely cause slowdowns.
- It might change your homepage to some shitty search engine that collects personal information.
- If the servers that operate it get compromised, that might open up a backdoor for a fuckton of other malware.
I used to have some adware on a computer of mine named "Conduit" and it caused a lot of issues.

I used to have some adware on a computer of mine named "Conduit" and it caused a lot of issues. And this all could have been avoided when i was about to install pivot... Smh, don't be like me, don't install pivot and then accidentally accept for another thing which is a adware. Im seriously going to have to sue Pivot for withholding adware in they're own installation. But the first point may not work, guess why? I use duckduckgo. So i am sure that adware won't collect any data if i already use DuckDuckGo, and fun fact, google already collects data anyways with ads, which i have AdblockPlus.

- They never withheld any adware in their installers. When you run the installer, you are given the option to install additional software that comes bundled with it. This is optional, but usually is selected by default. This means you have to actually pay attention to what the installer is saying instead of constantly clicking "Accept" or "Next". To prove this, I actually ran the installer myself, and got these prompts, which gave the option to decline them.
Avast: AVG:
- Did you even read the License Agreement that you agreed to when installing the software? The License Agreement basically says that they aren't liable for any fuckups connected to the installation and use of their software. You agreed to this. To quote them directly:
We are not liable to you or any other person for any incidental, consequential, special, direct, punitive, or exemplary damages in connection with the installation or use of pivor stickfigure animator. - Adware can access your search history, even from Google Chrome. Even if you use DuckDuckGo, your searches can be tracked by adware since they can just access your Chrome browsing history. This isn't even mentioning the fact that your IP address can be tracked, whether it be by your ISP, the people running the adware, or even the websites you visit.
- AdBlockPlus is a browser extension. It only blocks ads and stuff like that from webpages you access using the browser you have it on. It cannot block adware that is installed onto your computer outside of your browser.
- Adware can collect a fuckton more information about you since it's separate from your browser. This means that the adware can collect information about your hardware, your data, and ultimately you.
Sorry to break it to you, but security requires the human element to be competent in order for it to work properly.

However though, they have it in they're installer, it should be better if they did not make a accept or don't on the main application when they could put it in the about section in they're website, cause clearly they need some research before adding other applications to they're installer, after all: who wants extra garbage on they're PC? Clearly many people just want the main product, and nothing else. If its not getting info by ads, its not considered adware. Clearly shown in its type's name.

Clearly many people just want the main product, and nothing else. If its not getting info by ads, its not considered adware. Clearly shown in its type's name. You still don't know what you're talking about. - Many businesses will pay software creators (like the people who created Pivot) to bundle their software with the main software using the installer. Removing the "accept" function and only providing a "decline" option completely renders business deals like those useless.
- It's also really fucking stupid to remove something just because the user fucked up and didn't pay attention to what they were installing.
- Some companies would rather follow business deals so that they can keep themselves alive and online. Do you really expect software by businesses like Pivot to be free without any form of consequences? How do you think they're on the internet?
- You're making a mountain out of a molehill. It's not like it's the end of the world if you do have adware installed on your computer. Sure, it's annoying, but not a big deal. It can be easily removed, as long as the user removing it is competent.
- You don't know how tracking, information collecting, and categorizing software works. The definition of adware is not "software that collects information by advertising", instead it is "software that automatically displays or downloads advertising material (often unwanted) when a user is online."

Oh my god. Just get AdwCleaner, run it and then do a Malwarebytes full scan. This shouldn't take more than an hour or so and you won't worry about "your PC being bricked" which isn't likely anyways. Oh, and actually read the installers before just blindly hitting "yes" to things and you eliminate problems like this altogether.

By not reading those program bundle offers and blindly hitting "yes", that's how you got in this boat to begin with. We offered solutions and you didn't grasp simple instruction and concepts soooo that's on you. And my comment doesn't "immediately end the thread."

You can just use AdwCleaner and MalwareBytes and probably end up being a lot more secure anyways. There is no need to use an external uninstaller just to uninstall an applicaiton.
- Again, that was entirely on you. You didn't pay attention to the installer. Does that mean that the creators of the software you were trying to install are in the wrong over a mistake you made?

Can you just install AdwCleaner? Not that hard.
