I'd like to suggest a way to verify an admin that's accused of being an impostor without actually adding their IP to the admin list. This can be useful when the person is using a public computer or the like. Thoughts?

A verified rank that would apply only to that session would make sense to avoid banning without readding. Adding that capability shouldn't be hard as long as that status is removed as soon as they disconnect.

I like the idea, but there's a huge potential for OPs to get confused if it is not implemented properly. Ideally, you should immediately be able to see that the verified admin does not currently have admin powers.

From memory, I think we had a piece of work on the TFM issues to re-do a lot of the core way Admin management works including verification. Don't remember what it entails in detail but I know this was one of the things that has been suggested for some time and is something that needs a bit of thinking through to implement properly.
