What's the intended difference in permissions between a forum moderator and a forum administrator?

Why not have a thread where we can post our thoughts on particular people Seth was considering for the position? That seems like a good middle ground.

What's the intended difference in permissions between a forum moderator and a forum administrator? probably like on discord, mods can delete or edit posts and ban or kick members but admins can make or delete sections, add themes and other stuff

Guys, guys... This is not a political server. Everything around you is political. Any structure of power is political. These points are meaningless.

What's the intended difference in permissions between a forum moderator and a forum administrator? Seth can of course change the rank's permissions, but the forum moderator rank we originally had could not make a thread an announcement (but they could make it a sticky), and they could only access the parts of the admin panel necessary to deal with users, not the forum settings.

This is what forum mods have: That means forum moderators can't change the group of a member, correct? Because if you remember a while ago, there were technically two groups Administrator and Administrators, which defeated the purpose since a global moderator could change their own role to the one with all the permissions.

Yeah they can't modify groups. Also I deleted that Administrators group.

Just curious, although I know you plan on making a system for electing forum moderators, what must a member do in order to be qualified for such a position? How would we determine which members are eligible even for the voting process?

How would we determine which members are eligible even for the voting process? There isn't any plans to elect forum moderators right now. If the poll results show that people for whatever reason want forum staff elected now then I'll start it. My current plan is to appoint forum mods I find uncontroversial trustworthy people that have proven to me based on their actions over the coarse of their administration here on the server.

If we trust senior admins so much why are they not inherently moderators of the forums like they moderate the game...

Making an election where only the most trustworthy seniors get appointed to Forum Mod would make more sense than giving a whole group (which does have some shady people) forum mod. That's at least what I think.

That's at least what I think. If they're "Shady People" then surely we don't trust them in general and therefore they shouldn't be a senior admin. The entire argument I got from the executives around the ownership policy was that seniors are the most trusted members of the server, therefore should have the final say, so why not give them all board moderation access? Like I really don't understand why they don't have it already given they are the most senior members of the community and theoretically the most trusted. Though I fully agree with you, I don't trust a number of the senior admins, but then again I didn't appoint them so I don't need to trust them because we should trust them already.
