I vote for a yearly permban list purge with no changes in the way new permbans are added.

I find this to be quite desperate. The idea that we need griefers in order to bring players, brings into question how we actually want Total Freedom as a server to be. As admins our job is to protect the actual players from the griefers, and to ensure that the players enjoy themselves. Through this, we are treating griefers are a vital part of the TF experience. Advertise the server. Work towards bringing more players on the server. If we actively promote griefing, we're actively deterring any efforts of gaining any real players.

I'd say regularly (Monthly) purge all the IP's, and replace names with UUID's for premium players, and then usernames for cracked players which are purged every say 6 months.
Tbh I'd be more inclined also to re-review what qualifies as perm ban worthy and what does not.

I also believe the current permban list is far too strict. Maybe have like a 3 strikes and you're out?

Well, you can crash the server, but it's not encouraged, and leads to a ban when caught. Same can be said for griefing. Couldn't you say the same for desperation with the 100+ staff? The majority are inactive and login to the forum to keep their status.

It's not actively promoting griefing, it's showing players that admins are not needlessly strict and banning people for breaking the rules once (which they still do but this is a step in the right direction)

I think that the permban list should just consist of users who intentionally try to crash the server or spam using bots. The fact that it's called a "permban list" should live up to its name. Wiping it on occasion would completely deter from the whole idea from what the list is actually meant for. The whole idea of how banning works on the server is absolutely terrible. There's only two commands to ban somebody (/gtfo and /glist). They both ban players for 24 hours no matter what the user does to receive that ban. I believe this needs to be reworked in which if somebody is serial griefing frequently, their ban length should be elongated. Doing this would require a database on banned users (maybe implement LiteBans?). Let's say a player comes back from receiving two bans in the past and they start griefing again. The admin would then look up their name (or IP) in the database (kind of like plexiate.com/bans/bans.php ) to count of the number of instances in the past. Seeing that the player has two, the admin would then issue the command /gtfo 3 <playername> [reason], the number 3 being the third time this has happened. Depending on how each instance is set up, the player would be banned accordingly. I know that this idea would take a reasonable amount of time to set up; however, this would be much more beneficial and way more fair to the players of the community. Thoughts?

Why is there an option to vote to remove only serial griefers?
Would this mean that all the serial griefers would get unbanned, whilst others that committed lesser offences stayed banned?
Shouldn't there be an option to vote to remove all serial griefers, along with those that committed lesser offences, rather than just serial griefers?
