I don't know how or why this is happening, but my System process is constantly using a noticeably high amount of disk usage, where it just sends it up right at the top of the list. Right now it's just constantly at 0.1 MB/s, but it's always writing to disk most of the time at like 3-7 MB/s. why is that?

That process manages the low-level operating system, so it has to be an issue with Windows itself. Try manually checking for Windows updates. You can also check the system files by running sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt. Which processes are using the most? He means the process that calls itself System in the task manager, formally called ntoskrnl.exe.
