It does it very slowly and it isn't usable at all, but it can indeed load the forums and yes this thread was created using Windows 98 on Firefox.

I am wondering why it would be so slow. I assume you used a VM, so the calculations were done on a modern processor. Were the old versions of Firefox so inefficient?

I bet if I hadn't used a VM the loading times would be way worse. And yes, the old versions of Firefox were very inefficient. Internet Explorer would crash if you tried to load the forums so I couldn't use that either.

All old browsers were inefficient. Firefox 2 was actually quite fast for its time. I remember using it on Windows XP. Websites have become more complex as browsers have become faster. The result is that ancient browsers simply can not keep up.

You should try making a thread with Netscape next time He did. Firefox IS Netscape. It was a direct continuation of it. The later Netscape browsers were extremely similar to early Firefox versions because Mozilla used the open sourced Netscape code to start the Mozilla project. Also for anyone curious, there is a modern equivalent to the old Netscape browsers. Its called Mozilla Seamonkey.
