I decided to try a Dark Souls game to see if it really is as hard as people say it is. I got Dark Souls III Deluxe Edition on the Steam summer sale. It cost less than $30 so even if it was too hard, it still would be worth it (IMO). Video games were once much harder than they are today and I wanted to feel a modern AAA game with oldschool level difficulty. That is what Dark Souls is.
What I've found with the game so far: - Mistakes = death. You will make them and you will die. A lot. - The community is largely a toxic mix of trolls and elitists. There are still a few helpful people though. Play offline mode if you don't want to get invaded. - The only way forward is to learn from your mistakes, and practice combat mechanics. - The high difficulty means that when you do overcome a challenge, it feels so much better. - If you get too frustrated, stop playing for a while. Come back after you've calmed down and you'll probably do better. - The game requires a ton patience and persistence if you want to get through it.
The game is supposed to be difficult. Those who claim it is easy are most likely either trolling or abusing exploits in the game. Possibly both.

Lol, try the original...
And yes, I’m that hacked level 760 that’ll invade you.

You should try the first one if you like the third. Most people consider it to be by far the best game in the series. Also don't bother buying the remastered it doesn't really fix anything.

I threw a grenade and killed 50 people. Then the Grenade exploded.

The game requires a lot of consistent patience, because of the game's natural repetitive nature. Give it time. Personally, the game took approximately ~45-50 hours to complete; which is a tad bit over average.

Dark souls is easy, it's about as 'hard' as any other game just using the mechanics they give you and getting better. The only people who think it's actually hard are people who aren't generally good at games.
