I personally do not like Apple products, they seem to be more focused on copying their competitors than trying to improve the product.

Google will probably have a notch or they wouldn't have added support. Just like with the finger print scanner

1. android devices are unsuppoted by google within a matter of a few years, Apple is still supporting the iPhone 5S 2. pretty much any high-end android flagship has glass on the back 3. ahem... 4. Pixel 2 XL - $1,398.00 Galaxy S9+ - $ 839.99 iPhone X - $999.00 5. android displays have been getting nothing but bigger, as well 6. samsung has made it increasing more difficult to replace the batteries on the S9, iFixit gave it a 4 for repairability * wait who the fuck pays for a $1,000 phone wtf * i meant a lot of lower-cost phones that usually cost like $25 to $50. those usually have replacable batteries, smaller screens, and are far more durable. sure the support can be lacking, but you could easily root one of those fuckers and install a newer version yourself I mean if you're going to compare an iPhone which is arguablly a flagship device, then I'm going to compare it to similar Android flagships.

Oh hey another phone thread wonder who would comment on this one.
The only reason they rant about android being shit is because they own a phone which is stupidly overpriced.

I don't see why 'Apple equals iPhone' in this thread. While their mobile line is prevalent in popular culture, they produce many more products [which deserve fair coverage before insulting the company]. macOS runs laps around Windows 10 in terms of security, speed, and resource management; see my UNIX post.

Samsung's laptops, which natively run Windows.

Samsung's laptops, which natively run Windows. DeX is just an accessory that activates a native Android feature, and Android is not developed by Samsung. If you install Android on a normal desktop (it's possible), it will look exactly like that. Tizen is a mobile operating system and therefore not comparable with macOS, but with iOS, which, surprise, surprise, only comes on iPhones. Windows is not developed by Samsung either.

Tizen is a mobile operating system and therefore not comparable with macOS, but with iOS, which, surprise, surprise, only comes on iPhones. Windows is not developed by Samsung either. iOS is based off OS X [now macOS], a variant of BSD UNIX; making any comparison between that [iOS] and corresponding mobile softwares [Samsung's Android variants] applicable. Being developed from UNIX, my aforementioned texts on the security superiority of UNIX-based operating systems remains, now, wholly relative to the mobile operating system. The inherent proposition that 'mobile operating system(s)' are not comparable to any other OS for the sake of being 'mobile' is flawed - currently, more-so than ever, in consideration of Android's desktop-like abilities; the handling of downloaded files, and (as I've mentioned) Samsung's DeX. My point being that this thread is needlessly hardware-centric, and fails to identify the objective advantages of an operating system like macOS (and thus, iOS). While the effect of a more secure operating system may not sway the viability [or lack thereof] of Apple devices, it shouldn't go unnoticed. This is becoming less and less true, as time progresses. Recently, Apple opened the door to class-platform (iOS-to-macOS) porting during WWDC '18.

Apple has great ideas, but i feel they tend to fall flat when it comes to actually delivering a worthwhile product at a reasonable price.

I want a phone with a standard headphone jack. I want a phone that doesn't have planned obsolescence. I want a phone that can easily be programmed for. I want a phone that can actually survive without a case. I don't want a phone that becomes unusable after one accidental drop. I don't want a phone that is just a fucking screen. I don't want a phone that is extremely overpriced. I don't want a phone that favors size over portability. I don't want a phone that is a pain in the ass to replace the battery. ...and the list goes on. 1. android devices are unsuppoted by google within a matter of a few years, Apple is still supporting the iPhone 5S 2. pretty much any high-end android flagship has glass on the back 3. ahem... 4. Pixel 2 XL - $1,398.00 Galaxy S9+ - $ 839.99 iPhone X - $999.00 5. android displays have been getting nothing but bigger, as well 6. samsung has made it increasing more difficult to replace the batteries on the S9, iFixit gave it a 4 for repairability That's misleading. You gave the base prices for two phones and then gave the max price for the Pixel 2 XL. As for my opinion, the Pixel 2 has been hands down the best phone I've ever owned. And I got it for only $300 on Verizon. At that price point, the benefits of being able to unlock it/toy with the bootloader become miniscule. I get 3 years of guaranteed updates already, and when they stop updating the security software, someone will find a vulnerability that I can use to boot a custom rom. Tbh tho, I hope that Google starts including unlocked phones as part of their contract with Verizon. It's just downright user hostile to force users to keep their bootloaders locked (even if there ARE some security benefits).
