So a lot of you people out there hate the 2-hour restart then start to complain how you lost your builds. So in this thread, I will be teaching you how to use these commands and how to save your builds.
First off, what is schematic? Schematic is a command that allows the player to save, paste or find builds. It's very useful for builders as it helps them keep their builds safe from harm's way.
Then, what is worldedit? Worldedit is a simple command that gives you a wooden axe which allows you to manipulate terrain in various ways. It's also very useful for builders as it can help them build faster(you also need this to save your builds).
Ok, let's start. The server is restarting in 10 minutes and you have no idea on how to save it. Oh noes! Good thing you're here. The first thing you want to do is type //wand. This gives you a wooden axe, as I said earlier, which grants you the ability to manipulate a larger amount of block at once. After you got the wooden axe, you go to your build, left click the right bottom corner. After that, go diagonally to the upper corner and press right click. Make sure that the corners that you selected are not parallel. But, if your build is too big, it will select the whole build and you can save it, but if you want to paste it, you have to ask an admin to set your limit a bit higher. So after you selected these 2 corners, do //schem save <build name>. This will save your build into the schematic list which you can see if you type //schem list. If you want to load your build, type //schem load <yourbuildname>. It will load it into your clipboard, so you have to type //schem paste afterwards. There you have it. No need to worry about your building getting lost if the server is restarting.
Now let's talk about the wand. Everybody loves that command! It's so useful and fun. How do you use it? Well, as I said earlier, you only need to have the build in the wand parameters, then you can type in various commands to change the blocks inside those 2 parameters. Most people use this to grief, which I strongly advise not to do. Let's look at some wand commands(I won't list the ones which can be used to mass griefing).
//wand - gives you the wooden axe.
//cut - removes the blocks.
//replace <block that you want to replace> <block that you will replace>.
//regen - pretty much removes any block and places grass.
//copy - copies the landscape that you selected.
//drain - drains any sort of liquid nearby(you can set a radius).
//up - you go up 1 block and beneath you get placed a glass block. Perfect if you need to set a bigger area for you worldedit selection.
//forest - Pretty straightforward - makes a forest around you.
//jumpto - Use this to teleport to a location.
//limit - Use this to change your worldedit limit(no greater than 10000 blocks though).
//pos 1 - Sets the first "corner" of your selection. Works as the wooden axe parameter selection tool.
//pos 2 - Same as //pos 1 only this sets your second selection.
//undo - You may have accidentally worldedited somebodies building away, but you can always bring it back with //undo! Basically undoes your last worldedit action.
//rotate - Basically rotates your clipboard contents around.
//set - Sets the blocks you type in the parameters.
//sphere - Makes a sphere you can choose the size to.
I know I haven't covered all the commands, but this is due to them not being used as often. Hope you liked my guide.
