Good move by Trump. I think it's very strategical. The attack was small enough to prevent a response from the Russian government, but he signaled that chemcial weapons are not tolerable. I think this also makes it clear that the US does not want to intervene in the war heavily, just draw a line in the sand. Russian ambassador says there "will be consequences". Also there were unconfirmed reports coming in that a chemical weapons facility might not have been attacked but instead a Hezbollah base. Assad already turned over his chemical weapons. My guess is that these consequences are either going to be military responses in Syria (not us soil) or economic sanctions. There are videos of missiles being intercepted. As for who did the "intercepting", I'm pretty sure it was Syrian defense systems.
