So Minecraft has started doing this thing where on bootup, it refuses to accept any user input (it runs and nothing is frozen but if I hover over something nothing happens).
What should I do?

Update: The problem was solved. I rebooted my computer and the problem went away. I guess the term "turn it off and back on again" does work.

This is the reason I had to use my alt, because it only accepted the alt, and apparently my user was IMPOSSIBLE to login to.
So I had to wait 2 weeks until Minecraft replies to me and I finally had my account fixed.

What it looked like to me was that somehow, you were stuck on the window-resize mouse cursor. Maybe it was a sticky key or something which was preventing you from clicking and instead allowing you to resize your window? Anyways, problem solved, all assumptions, good fix amigo.
