I haven't played Minecraft in a while now, but for about 1 week ago I logged on and I noticed that when the starting screen(the white Mojang one) starts, then the main menu freezes completely. I have a new pc so the specs should not be a problem at all. I wonder if anybody knows a fix to this.

Maybe try reinstalling Minecraft? The weird thing is that it doesn't always freeze. For instance, I have played on a server today for about 30 minutes. After that, Minecraft freezes and when I quit, it won't let me in again.

How much memory do have assigned to the game? I have 2 "users". One of them 6gb and the other one is 4gb.

That's too much for vanilla. 1GB is enough for Forge and OptiFine, 2GB is enough for hack clients and small modpacks. People always claim more RAM makes the game run better, and they think nothing bad is happening until they randomly get insane lagspikes and have no idea why.

But I also tried with 1gb ram and it still froze.

Since its a new PC, making sure your drivers are up to date is a good idea. When I got mine my AMD drivers were on a really old version, and when I updated them there was an instant boost in FPS in all games. It might be worth a shot to see if everything is up to date. Also, try restarting.

Since its a new PC, making sure your drivers are up to date is a good idea. Try ``iobit driver booster`` Already have it + its pro version. Anyways, I'll try to use the good old method - which probably won't work as I tried - but let's see.
