So I have a C drive that I need to get some files off of, would it be smart to exchange it with my other C drive that I have currently plugged into my PC? I know this doesn't sound smart but I saw something online about it and didn't want to fry my computer trying to do it.

Just plug it in using the SATA and power connector in addition to your working C drive. You can then drag and drop off of your old one the files into the new drive.

You can switch the hard drives around if they're installed with Windows AFAIK, but you need to turn it off and disconnect it from power when you do it. If you pull it out while the computer's running, that's how to fry it.

Not sure if you know what you're talking about? having multiple c drive. Must've worded it wrong There is no such thing as having multiple C: drives. Why can't you just say having multiple drives?
