Just from my recent limited observation and PMs received, I think it's fair to re-emphasizee the need for respect between the staff and OPs as well. When you write something that's cutting to somebody else, you might call it call it "joking" and "banter" but it's often perceived (and rightly so) as bashing, insults, bullying, and harassment; perhaps with the intend of driving the person off the server. When an OP (or admin) feels the need to leave the server due to this kind of behavior, we need to check ourselves even if you believe the OP was being overly sensitive. You can help prevent such a toxic atmosphere by not only checking yourself but cautioning others (regardless of rank) when they are clearly showing contempt and disrespect to admins or OPs - the line between a friendly jibe or joke and a bashing taunt can be very thin when it's in written form. Admins and ex-admins in particular should note totalfreedom.boards.net/thread/11773/respect-handling-disputes-fellow-admins
