So I tried to plugin USB ports into my PCs motherboard. When doing so, the computer just shutdown and won't turn back on. I unplugged the USBs and it still doesn't work. I've tried different plugs an different outlets. You might have shorted out your motherboard if you connected the USB hub cable to the wrong connector on the motherboard (AFAIK that usually happens with USB and Firewire). Pics of the motherboard would help.

Also, does it have a diagnostic speaker installed in it? If it does, are you hearing any beeps when you power it on?

Take a picture of the area showing all of the header-type ports on the board. Indicate which port that you plugged the cable into, and if you remember, which orientation that the cable was in when you plugged it in. What does it say on the side of the cable you that plugged in? USB? 1394?

If it does, are you hearing any beeps when you power it on? It doesn't power on, but when I use one power cord I can hear sounds like static. The others don't do that. I don't hear any beeps at all. Is there a specific reason you need to see the ports? All the photos I take are bad and blurry.

Well, if you plugged a USB into a Firewire connector on the motherboard you most likely have damaged the motherboard. If that's the case, you need a new motherboard.

I connected it to something neatly labeled USB and had the words USB printed on it.

If you've got something plugged into the USB Slots its possibly trying to boot from USB, we did that to a thin client at work after it ran out of memory and managed to confuse the IT team for a solid 20mins so its possible thats whats happening.

Sounds like you've shorted the USB port, that would've damaged the motherboard, you're motherboard has most likely shorted.

If what wild said was true, go into boot options (f11) and go to boot from: then choose hdd.
Although if it dosen't turn on, it's more likely the motherboard is fried.
