I just got this message not 37.174 seconds ago, delete the "Tmp" folder in your downloads folder or where ever you stored minecraft, then run minecraft again and that should do it.

Same thing happened to not me not too long ago. Simply just restart your pc.

Try using the portable version of minecraft (if there is still one, there should be a little drop down under downloads on minecraft.net)
