So currently I am facing an issue that has been going on for about 1 hour know, and that is when my monitor shows "no signal". To elaborate, when I turn on my PC it shows the dialogue of the "Windows did not shut down correctly," and so I hit enter on starting windows normally. Once the windows icon is finished loading, it shows me my mouse cursor along with a black screen behind it and says "No Signal" once my mouse cursor disappears. My computer still remains on, however and I'm not sure if this is a problem with the monitor, or the PC. How am I able to fix this problem?

Before this issue started to occur, I shut down my pc when I heard a weird noise coming from a YouTube video (mistaking it as a Trojan virus when it was actually a part of a prank in the video).

First of all, I would try to reset your BIOS/UEFI settings to default. And then just save the bios and restart the computer and see if this issue is still happening. Good luck man!

And if that doesn't work then tell us how you connect your monitor to your computer so we can understand more.

Are you able to boot in to safe mode?

Thank you so much, SupItsDillon for the advice. So I tried booting up my PC into safemode, shutting down the PC and then booting it on again. Now my computer is running at its normal settings again, and there are no errors . My issue has been resolved.

I was going to suggest trying to boot into Linux to see if your computer still worked.

At this point, I am suspecting the video driver and/or video settings are at fault. Boot into safe mode, and uninstall your video card driver in the device manager. When you reboot, Windows should work well enough to install another driver.

I'll lock the thread then since it is resolved.
