So, my friend had an old PC that I bought from him for €50, the only problem is, it takes a year to load applications. It's a Lenovo H520, and it's got 1TB of HDD and 6 gigs of RAM and it runs windows 8. Anyone know how or why it takes so long to load any application?
Mind you, it does boot perfectly well, it's just application loading that takes so long.

Make sure to remove any bloatware/antivirus that lenovo pre-installed. My grandmother purchased a Dell PC that came with a Celeron processor and McAffee. The McAffee used almost 70% of the CPU, and lots of RAM. Once it was removed, the PC was able to do things just fine. This might help.

Hockey StevenNL2000Well, booted it after 6 months: errors me "No operating system found. Press any key to restart boot sequence" Booted it again, it worked. Everything ran fine, applications loaded quicker then before, and then it froze. So I restarted the PC, and it tells me ">>Start PXE over IPv4" ">>Start PXE over IPv6" I guess I was getting somewhere, but it was taking quite a bit to give me that. Anyone know how to fix?

Reinstalling the OS is probably your best bet. What OS does it have installed? You may also need to disabling booting from a network in the BIOS.

Intel(R) SpeedStep Tech Intel Virtualization Technology What it tells me in CPU. Anyways, mind helping me reinstall or delete it? I plan to turn it into a Linux PC.

If you just want it to run Linux, simply install Linux and set the partition editor to use the whole drive for Linux. Then whatever OS is on there will be gone.

I'm not a computer developer. Then don't comment. Post by Donald J. Trump on [abbr title="Fri Jan 20 2017 22:31:14 GMT-0600 (CST)" class="o-timestamp time recent_time" data-timestamp="1484973074000"]2 minutes ago[/abbr] What about Twitter? You're pretty much set if your computer can load that.
This has nothing to do with this thread.

Then don't comment. This has nothing to do with this thread. What are you talking about? We're discussing a computer not loading applications quickly, correct? It was more of a thread asking for support with said issue.

That means don't comment if you're going to start talking about others so mind your own business.
