I see people misusing this on the forums a lot and it drives me insane. If you purposely do it, that's fine, but for those that want to learn, here you go.
The only time you should ever use the apostrophe to end a sentence ('s) is when it's possessive. Example: The biker's hat fell off. Example: Mark's forums consist of a lot of inactive accounts. Example: TotalFreedom's server needs more random access memory.
You should not use the apostrophe as a sentence ender when you are talking about plurals. The wrong way: I bought a lot of monitor's for my setup. The wrong way: Chin Chin gets all the pussy's (it should be pussy). The wrong way: These forum's sure are populated.
You should also not put an (s) for plural when the word ends with a (s) already. Example: Look at all those cacti. Example: I have a lot of SEGA Genesi in the back. The wrong way: Those cactuses are very prickly. The wrong way: Your SEGA Genesises are fading.
Even though this sounds weird, it's correct. Example: Bill Gates' family is very rich.
There's been times where I've seen misuse of apostrophes on legal documents, as well. Unless you want your grammar laughed at, use it right.

You forgot about when something is doing something else, such as - "Shadow's making a pointless thread again"

Because a forum about a server for an international has to have 100% English all the time, right?

Not everybody on every forum needs to use correct grammar or spelling, for all you know, they might even be a kid.

Eh as long as it can be understood without difficulty I don't see why it really matters. A lot of this is going into splitting hairs. I will say though that mixing up allowed and aloud does annoy me.

why is the bill gates one correct? is it because it already has the es at the end It is like that because the way you would say it is like this: "Bill Gateses (I hope you know how that would sound)". So instead of the 'es' after another 'es', they made it so it looks like this: "Bill Gates' Family", it is saying that it is his family. So here are some examples. With a " ' " at the end. 1. Bill Gates' family is amazing. 2. The boys' bike got stolen 3. The kids' parents got kidnapped. When it has a " ' " at the end, it basically means plural of the word. Now don't go around typing it like this: "My Parents' got a divorce.", that doesn't make sense. The reason it doesn't make sense is because the word "parents" is already plural, Adding a " ' " at the end just makes it more plural...Which doesn't make sense and isn't even a thing. The Wrong Way: 1. The bikes' helmet is gone 2. The elephants' telnet admin is coming. (The sentence doesn't make sense, I did that on purpose for elephants telnet admin) 3. The parents' got a divorce. So let me explain again. If the word has an "s" at the end (Not Always just an 's'), then it would have a " ' " to the end. If it is confusing, just reread it again and it should come to you. Sorry if it is complicated lol.

Unless you want your grammar laughed at, use it right. "...use it [grammar] right.", are you sure you didn't mean to be grammatically correct and use the terminology, "properly"? Perhaps, you meaning to say: "...use it [grammar] properly." Hypocrite, don't act perfect- you're not. I'm not perfect, you're not perfect. Do not pretend you're perfect. Use it right is grammatically correct, use it "properly" just sounds more pleasant to the eyes.
