I know the answer you seek. I got laser burn on portal 2 when I first got it (which Is where you knock your xbox and the laser scratches it) I took it to my local game shop and they have a machine that grinds off a super thin layer of the plastic coating on the disc removing the scratches depending on how deep they are it should work. Good luck.

People frequently get this problem SPECIFICALLY with the Lego Movie game.
Step 1) Take disc out of console, and seal in disc case.
Step 2) Carefully place disc in home shredder.
Step 3) Shit on remains of the Lego Movie Game discs.
Step 4) Profit???
