I'm not a computer expert but I know for a fact a 150MB download shouldn't take 15 minuets. I don't think it's my WiFi because this never use to happen. I prefer not to download anything but I'll download something if I have to. Yeah, I know the specs aren't that good. Well, my old computer broke and I had to buy this as an replacement.

Let's work this out. The average Internet speed is about 10mbps. 1024 mbs is a GB lets round that off to 1000mbs. So your 10mbps can download 1gb in 1000 seconds but your internet never usually downloads at its top speed. So let's make that a 10th of the speed which is usual for Internet to download a 10th of what it says it is. That's 10000 seconds for a gb. So 150mbs should take that long. Do a speedtest.net and tell me how fast your Internet is. I'm pretty sure what I've said is true though correct me if I'm wrong.
P.S: Your system specs have nothing to do with your DL speed except your hard drive, try running a defrag. It might take some time because disk management can b a bitch, running a defrag sorts out where it physically is on the platter of your hard drive. That's why SSDs are faster...I think.

Buy internet that doesnt come from a potato?
To be honest, if you are over wi-fi try a wired connection, if you are on a wired connection switch out your Ethernet cables and if its still slow you just have crap internet.

The amount of money I pay for internet it couldn't be this slow. Also I'm using a laptop, so yeah.

Try other devices, its unlikely that the laptop would slow it down that significantly to be honest.

Factoring in what you said about internet speeds slowed down, it would take 1000 seconds to download a gigabyte. That's 1MBps. 150 MB/1 GB = 0.15 gigabytes. 1000 seconds*0.15 gigabytes = 150 seconds. 150 seconds/60 seconds per minute = 2.5 minutes. It should really take him 2.5 minutes to download a 150 MB file. Which Internet do you use? Because it's probably time to ditch them. Check if Google Fiber is in your area

Google fibre isn't in England as far as I'm aware. So basically you need to run a defrag because your hard drive is struggling to find a space on the platter.

Yeah I could have, but that wouldn't have been interesting ;p Also I was talking to Best about Google Fiber, unless Best lives in England....?

There's a difference between MB/s and Mb/s. Service providers advertise using Mb/s or Gb/s because it's a higher number, bit in reality, you're really going to be using MB/s.
For example: I pay $30 for my internet, which is advertised as 30 Mb/s. High number right? Well, I only get 1 MB/s (2 if I'm lucky) download speed using, steam, for example.
Advertising using Mb/s is HIGHLY misleading.

Kick you router, if that doesn't work then unplug it and plug it back in, or leave it off for a night.
