Wandering around the internet and trying to remember some old servers i used to play in, i noticed that there's still people arguing about the admin/op ratio, and how our playerbase has decreased as years have passed.
Right now, the only fun thing a part from the usual TF experience, is gathering coins and buying stuff on the shop, but really active OPs don't really get a reason to keep playing other than to build stuff and chat with their friends on the server, and thus, sometimes, forcing them to apply for the administrator status to help the community.
Trying to remember one of the servers i used to play on, forced me to think that there really isn't anything else they can do, and thus, we could find a way to reward these active OPs by just.. spending time on the server, as they always do.
The whole mentally unstable role idea, was something to encourage them to stay active and get that status as a reward, but i feel like just having this won't do anything. It's just a funny title.
My idea, is to give OPs a progression system based on activity, giving them coins when reaching a certain hour milestone, and also giving the most active ones (ex: +4 days, +7days, +2weeks) different color names, to make them feel like staying on the server for so many hours is at least making them get some coins, and getting a tab colored name.(Wich changes every time they level up) These colors should be easily differentiated from the current admin colors.
Slight edit: Instead of using tab color names, something to change their colors on the discord should be enough, as burger said. We don't want the players to get confused with it, and they should be able to know the difference between an administrator and a regular player.
However, i agree that instead of giving them a limited ammount of tiers to escalate from is still a bad idea, because what we want is them to be more active. What about giving them coins every <x> amount of hours, but still having the different discord color names that make them differentiate themselves from the not so active players. This way, everyone will be using the system, and there should be no need to get the mentally unstable role when we can still get others by just playing. We should still keep this for the most active players every month, since it's a fun freature.
Maybe the mentally unstable role could be the last tier to get, in regards of time spent. Still, that would need to increase the required hours to get this rank. It's an interesting idea.
And yes, this means we should have more items in shop, or reducing the ammount of coins players get. Usually, it takes for about three days to get the first one/second one, so adding by adding this system, reducing/increasing the ammount of coins should be considered.
Feel free to discuss this topic, and i will edit the thread in regards of better ideas to implement this system.
