A massive explosion occurred near the port of Beirut, Lebanon with "hundreds" of casualties and turning it into a stricken area according to Al Jazeera. Nothing is clear about the cause yet, with sources saying everything from it being a firework factory explosion to a possible Israeli airstrike on a Hezbollah weapon factory.
Although both Hezbollah and Israel denied there being an airstrike, earlier tweets from the Israeli PM show otherwise:
If it was truly Israel behind this, then things could escalate very quickly in the region. With US elections coming up soon, Israel seems to be itching for a new war in the Middle East.
Here's a nongraphic video of the explosion, showing the massive range it had.
Keep the people of Lebanon in your prayers

Lebanon is such a great country, you could be any religion and be welcomed there. It's so sad that this has happened and I hope everyone that was affected stays strong.

This is why I say "Fuk Israel". Government is just as bad as the US Except Zaid was just speculating without anything to actually back his assertion, this is 100% due to local corruption and not properly treating explosive materials. They left 2700 tons of ammonium nitrate, 70% the explosive potential of TNT, sitting in a hot, damp, environment for 6 years. More than that, they left it beside where they also stored fireworks, the perfect catalyst to ignite the ammonium nitrate which requires high temperatures to actually reach explosive potential. This had nothing to do with Israel, everything to do with poor regulations. They left fertilizer with 12.5% the explosive potential of the atomic weapon dropped in Hiroshima sitting in the exact environment it should never be left in, and did it directly beside 300k people. This wasn't Israel, this was criminal negligence.

When I heard about them storing all of that in the same warehouse, I couldn't help but think to myself, "someone just realized they massively f'ed up". Cannot believe that this happened, and if it was truly negligence that was behind this, there needs to be charges. Storing that much explosive material in a major popular center turned out to literally be a ticking time bomb. The PM said they are conducting an investigation and plan to release the results within 5 days. Very much interested to see what that report is going to have (and I also think that having a deadline like that for what is certainly a complex investigation is not very smart). Either way this is just awful.

Except Zaid was just speculating without anything to actually back his assertion Way more than speculation at this point. Don't get me wrong, Lebanon has one of the most corrupt governments in the area, and this could've been completely prevented, but I genuinely believe that Israel was behind the actual explosion. Proofs so far: 1- The Tweet by Netanyahu only hours before the explosions saying that they struck Hezbollah's source (linked in the OP). 2- A Tweet by IDF spokesman Avichay last year clearly labelling this exact port as an IDF target. 3- A Israeli politician and former Knesset member celebrates the explosion and calls it a "fireworks show" and a "Jewish holiday" 4- A video clearly shows the sound of an aircraft seconds before the second explosion: http://instagr.am/p/CDhGNI9J9IO 5- A second video shows citizens pointing up to the sky before the second explosion. http://instagr.am/p/CDhLNERA06e Say what you will, call it a big coincidence. I am sure Israel had a hand in this, one way or another, and Hezbollah knows this. They just don't want to start another war while Lebanon's economy is already in the gutter and another offensive is about to start in Idlib.

How positive are you that the last video is legitimate, non-edited, and actually from Beirut at the specified time?

No, everything you posted is purely speculation at best, and blatant misinformation at worst. The tweet by Netanyahu was talking about strikes the day earlier in Syria. This was against a small group of individuals, 4, attempting to plant explosives alongside the border fence Israel has erected in the Golan Heights. Can't speak on this without having the source of it and not a random picture. Who gives a flying fuck about a former Knesset member. Him celebrating it makes him an absolute cunt, it doesn't mean the Israeli government, which he isn't even a part of anymore, was behind it. There has been no legitimate videos showing an airplane. The area was in flames for close to half an hour before the ammonium nitrate detonated, and there was dozens of people filming this. No videos posted online show an aircraft, a few do show what's very clearly a bird though. Surprised you didn't include that one considering how much it's getting passed around. There was fireworks shooting from the blast site shortly before the explosion, and that's almost certainly what they're pointing at, before they then react to the main detonation. Overall, you have no evidence and you're basing this theory entirely on nothing. Israel wasn't behind this, and even if they had been it wouldn't have been an aircraft that was used which your theory apparently revolves around. I'd implore you to actually look into the issue a bit more before spreading blatant misinformation. This isn't about your opinion, it's about a factual situation and you are incorrect.
