Lately, social media has been buzzing about Wayfair, Amazon, Etsy, and some other websites (mostly Wayfair) and their possible involvement in human trafficking. Now there is a ton of false information about this topic such as the CEO of Wayfair stepping down (he isn't) and blatantly obvious doctored images. There are (or were) some weird listings of items that are over $10,000 and they probably should not be any where near that price. One item I found was a baby dinosaur 4 piece framed art set. It was priced for over $30,000. Earlier the link was working for me, but for some reason it doesn't work anymore (which is suspicious to me). Someone did make a video of this specific item and a lot of other ones, but the listings on the website are being removed. Here is the link: www.wayfair.com/baby-kids/pdp/isabelle-max-pimentel-baby-dinosaurs-4-piece-framed-art-set-w001664367.html (it won't work)
Here is a screenshot of the listed item before it was removed:
A lot of people think that items $10,000+ are actually people that are being sold secretly, but I guess this could be easily debunked and would be extremely difficult to actually prove. These could easily be argued as glitches or mistakes made by developers, but it is trending on Twitter and there are a bunch of videos and pictures (which could easily be fake) of people showing different items priced at over $10,000, some of which have names linked to actual missing persons. I personally did find the item I spoke about above earlier which was over $30,000 for some picture frame with four cartoon like dinosaurs that could be hung in a child's room. Some people are calling out expensive couches, beds, etc. which I think is kind of dumb. It would make sense for some of these items to be priced $10,000+.
Other cases have been found on Amazon and Etsy where, again, there appears to be overpriced items. I am not saying this is true or not, but I just thought I'd share it and get some of your thoughts.
If you click here, you can see countless tweets with pictures and videos regarding the, what they call, "Wayfairgate." Proceed at your own discretion.
