Flat design poorly serves users and more often than not is implemented when a company doesn't want to hire or continue paying graphics designers. It's definitely become a trend in the previous ten years, one which I hope soon dies out. Not only are flat design languages ugly as shit, but the plain simplicity of them makes it a must to follow design specifications exactly on any page, or advertisement, or document — this is never done, because companies implement new features or change protocol without consulting the people who created that language to begin with. But dude, it's modern! My focus group of 3 25 year old hippie losers said so! Is that focus group where you get all of your wisdom from?
