A malicious software/tool has been used stolen from the NSA (National Security Agency) that executed dangerous cyber attacks yesterday that targeted dozens of countries from all around the globe. The attack caused plenty of issues including forcing Britans public health system to decline patients and freezing computers at Russia’s Interior Ministry and creating more havoc on thousands of computers elsewhere. 45,000 attacks have recently been recorded in 74 countries. It's not currently clear who could possibly be behind the attacks but, the acts deeply alarmed online security experts. The hacking tool used for this attack yesterday was "ransomware", a malware that encrypts data, kicks out the user and demands a ransom to release it. Experts say the tool exploited had been developed by the National Security Agency of the United States.

More surprised that the CIA's leaked tools weren't exploited.

Especially if it was going to affect the NHS, they just wouldn't do that. It's too dangerous. Implying the NSA and the CIA actually care about the security of citizens? No, they care about the security of themselves as well as private companies, they literally hire 15 year olds to develop scripts and backdoors and then the agencies either force companies to implement their backdoor, or they use the exploits themselves giving the company no notice and when those tools get leaked allowing hostile hackers to use them against people it's just a "Whoops! Too bad, we can't comment on this though.", and it's back to everyday spying. No one actually talks about how much power they have themselves, the ability to manipulate cars causing a car crash (what the fuck), spying and tapping of every citizen of every country including government officials AND themselves and even their wives (yeah), and the Obama Administration gave them the ability to give that information to any other agency which creates a whole new authoritarian problem. At least the CIA doesn't have as much government power as they did in the 60s-80s though, they used to overthrow foreign governments and establish fascist puppets to represent America's big corporations, assassinate anyone who goes against them (they could still be doing this though, just not as 'extreme' as it was then), blackmail, plot mass murder scenarios to frame foreign enemies, kill American citizens (they still do this), etc.
