object, it would probably work if there were a small amount of admins, but will just fuck the average up with more admins with different amounts of time played.

Uh, no. We have admins that play for ridiculously long amounts of time every month (cough bowie and lyicx) that would screw up the average and get people needlessly removed. This suggestion literally fixes nothing, in fact it would break stuff.

Object. Steven has put it well. I really don't understand these admin removal suggestion threads. I'll say it again - the fabled ratio problem is not as serious as you all make it seem to be. I'd love to meet you in game where you interact with all of us like a normal community member - just because you couldn't get the ban for someone doesn't mean you're a bad admin. It might seem overbearing at first when you read it, but if we're being blunt here, if you're not administrating or actively contributing to admin related forum discussions in a gainful matter, there's no reason for you to hold a spot on the admin list. I would like to treat admins as all individual staff members who has in some form or other carried out administrative tasks either in recent past or in an ongoing process. It really is just basic respect as "people" - you don't strip someone of their rank just because "you're not worthy now". The small in-game activity standard can be raised a bit more, sure, but when it comes to contribution and helpfulness there isn't much objective measurements we can take. As Vjay says, the seniors are meant to be setting an example to the super admins, but that really does not happen. Telnet Admins are also meant to set an example to Supers, which they actually do. You might say I can't generalise over rank, however I've seen this with my own eyes and so have many others. How is monitoring activity and purging accordingly supposed to tackle this? You simply cannot deal with this head-on unless you actually go and demote those who are "not deemed worthy" - Slippery slope. If this was another attempt at fixing the supposed AdOp ratio problem, this is one mighty dangerous way to do it. The ratio is still a cosmetic number that does not entail much on 2nd glance. The real problems that is the AdOp community gap and supposed admin quality drop can still exist even after the ratio has been perfected.

You're saying the seniors who were appointed by mark were more trusted then our current seniors? Clearly Mark trusted them enough to give them Senior permissions. And if Mark trusts them, they are probably trustworthy. It doesn't matter if that last sentence is true, what matters is that people thought it was true. Imagine if Seth just appointed admins the way Mark did. There would be 3+ threads calling for him to reverse it. Being an admin on TF is incredibly easy with the tools we have. Someone being annoying in chat? Mute them. Someone griefing? Roll them back with coreprotect. I still do not believe getting Senior demonstrates your effectiveness as an admin, and never really has. I think it much more as a "gold sticker" that you get for your activity. I didn't say anything opposing this. Trustedness and effectiveness are not the same thing. "It's the other way around: he is trusted more, so the community promoted him to a higher rank" so then having this many seniors isnt an issue then if they're all trusted correct? That is correct. I'm not sure where you are going with this because your opinion that we don't have too many admins seems to agree with that.

And if Mark trusts them, they are probably trustworthy. Why so? Granted, he was the owner for 7-ish years, but that doesn't really construct a valid argument? He handpicked them, but mark had as many bad takes as the next guy. Just because he picked someone doesn't necessarily mean that they're god-like and should be idolized as an admin. Some of the seniors that mark handpicked were actually some of the most atrocious admins I've seen to date.

Objection, this would just gradually shrink the admin team. The first month half would get removed, then of them the next half would get removed and so there goes 75% of admins then a further 12.5% after 4 months. By this time next year all the admins would be gone.
