Sorry for the shit title, couldn't find a way to word it without it being misleading or being too long. Basically I'd like to suggest that executives and similar (People like Seth and even potentially IA is what I mean by 'Similar') should refrain from posting on threads relating to (But not including) the following within the first 24 hours of posting: - Admin Applications
- Ban Appeals
- Suggestions
The logic behind this is I believe that especially in the case of the two perm ban appeals that are currently being discussed, the fact Seth was the first reply may have biased some individuals before they even made their own educated decision. Owners & Executives are people you want to impress and generally that's done through ass kissing and agreeing with them, and while I'm not saying that happens here, it is common and a common approach. Obviously everyone should be able to express an opinion I just personally feel a lot of people probably haven't then actually thought about the ban appeal, just saw Seth and went "Yeah what Seth said", and I think it's been the same with some other more senior members of the server. Why 24 Hours? Well 24 hours gives in theory, everyone in the world a chance to have seen it regardless of time-zones. After that if you've not seen it, odds are there is some discussion underway and you can form your opinion from there. I'm not necessarily suggesting we put this as a formal policy, but I'd like it to be considered by the community as something potentially that is 'Encouraged'. Thoughts?

Um, object? Everyone on this server should be allowed to comment and express their views, regardless of position. I also doubt this would change much because you can always "change" your opinion. In addition, this would be highly subjective and nearly impossible to enforce.

How are we gonna enforce this lmao we can't invalidate their vote for 24h because votes don't work that way

while you may have a point that owners and executives could sway opinion (never effected mine personally but i kinda see why it would) im objecting for darths reasoning.
no matter what rank you shouldn't have to wait to give an opinion. if they're having the same vote as an exec/owner/etc then they must agree with it more to some degree. i couldn't see people going along if seth said they were to remove worldedit or something bizzare like that

Object, the line drawn is too vague. What if I'm more influenced by Wild1145 than by anyone else because I admire his ability to run a company? Or by Feueristic because he is one of the only OPs who says they do not aspire to become an admin? You can't measure someone's "likelihood to be sucked up to".

object, while this does happen, i don't see a reason to prevent them from giving their vote, at that point we would also have to ban any of the "popular" admins from giving their vote as well

I understand where you are coming from, but it doesn't seem like this would even be effective. Even if executives waited 24 hours, people can still change their opinions based on what an executive said after they've commented following the 24 hours.

I see where Wild is coming from but humans have been following the leader for thousands of years. Agreeing with popular people is simply a force of nature, and there's nothing we can do about it. All this would do is create problems. We tried it with Vj because mark (for some reason) didn't like him giving responses that swayed other people's votes, and you saw how well that turned out. This is unfortunately something we will just have to accept.

Object. People should use their own opinion not mine or the Executive team. Simply don't read my response. I posted mine right after because I read it even before posting them. No one should have to wait some random amount of time to post their opinion.

If you don't want to be influenced, in the words of Tyler the Creator, just close your eyes.

Vouch (lets see how many people are influenced by me ?) switching to a vouchafter careful consideration, i have come to the conclusion that i was mind controlled by kae's overwhelming executive influence which is highly unethical. Switching back to an objectionKae, maybe you should have waited 17 more hours to post.
