Previous users have requested we don't use polls as it hinders discussion and reasoning behind someone's idea. Current polls will still be open, but future polls would not be allowed.
I agree with this but want the community's majority stance on it.
I'm not making a poll on this suggestion either.

i agree 100% i think that the object/vouch system works so well because you actually have to scroll down and just passing by the other posts on a thread might make you more inclined to actualy read it, which i think makes it more reliable, instead of just looking at the title of a post and then clicking yes or no

I vouch for this & for the banning of polls for executive vote-ins.

I vouch for this, but I think for executives it's different I vouch for this & for the banning of polls for executive vote-ins. Executive votes require no discussion, its not the same as a suggestion. You literally just vote for who you think would do the best job so a poll makes sense there.

Even though that I agree with this, I would play the devil's advocate and ask that are we going to extend this to make sure consistency? i.e. going through with this suggestion and apply it to generally all threads that requires a vouch/object. I don't see why this suggestion would be specific to only suggestions but all things that requires a stance in discussion.

Object. Non-anonymity can affect a persons vote and to not reflect their true feelings. I dont really see the logic behind this one.

I'm neutral.
There are cases where I'd just like to vote anonymously. I don't want people to quote me and DM me saying about how I'm wrong, stupid and how I should change my view. But then again, keeping it allows votes to be rigged somewhat easily and sometimes just isn't useful in terms of the suggestion itself.

I'm conflicted. If someone was applying for an executive position for example, and someone didn't think they'd do a good job but was afraid of retaliation, they would have a more difficult time giving their view without it negatively impacting them. But I agree polls on suggestions allow people to vote no without reading the argument and without a good foundation against the suggestion.
Vouch for banning polls on suggestion threads. Object for banning polls for executive related votes.

Object. I agree that in principle it is much better to have people comment, but it doesn't work in this community. A lot, and I really mean a lot of people will vote in a poll but will not make a post if there is none. Try opening up any closed suggestion with a poll and compare the amount of votes on the poll to the amount of different commenters. I'm sure everyone has noticed that we have some people here that argue enough for 10 others, which means we have a pretty big silent majority / vocal minority problem which can and will skew the outcome of any discussion. I think the poll can have a supplementary role.

I Object. Polls are incredibly useful and as far as I know, people can't censor poll votes unlike posts, which can be deleted. I also support the idea of an anonymous vote as the user isn't as likely going to be attacked for stating their feelings about a topic through an anonymous vote.

Massively object. People shouldn't be scared to vote a certain way because it may go against the opinion of someone else and they fear reprisals.

Object, polls are anonymous, efficient, and can't be tampered with by deleting votes

Why does there even need to be a policy on whether or not people utilize polls in their suggestions? It seems stupid. Polls serve no use beyond collecting the opinions of players and banning a method of data collection being used on a thread about proposing an idea is foolish.
I don't use polls because they encourage mindless votes, but there's no problem with people who do.
