I'm not gonna be talking about a huge change here, it's just a few minor things.
Firstly, although the policy is in detail, it is formatted in a horrible way. I lost brain cells reading it, I'm only 14 but this policy should be understandable by everyone. It needs to be formatted better.
Secondly, there is a flaw that supers+ can only vote. This isn't right, I feel like everyone should be able to vote for the new owner. I'm not gonna call out anyone here but let's say there's an admin who is friends with pretty much everyone, they will get through only because of the admins. If OPs vote, it increases the chance of a fairer vote.
Finally, there's not an explanation that I can see where it explains how the new owner achieves power.
I get the fact that I'm only an OP, but the policy was based on democracy. This suggestion isn't that detailed as I'm not good with writing but these changes are important.

I agree that not everything should be open with the public but the vote is something that does need to be open. edit: just realised that makes the vote unfair, adding a none option now |

Format looks fine imo. if you cant read it then you probably aren't in a position for it to matter to you
Vouch but only if their forum account is "X" months old. This is done in admin applications to defer alt accounts from being created specifically to weigh the vote in one way

So we had a lot of discussion about OP's being able to vote back when the policy was originally written, and there was no good way to do it without potentially rigging votes. For all people here known I could have 20-30-40-50 OP alt accounts that would be pretty hard to track back to me... That could seriously sway votes. As much as I don't like it, I Don't think there was a good way to facilitate OP voting on it.
Agree on the other two points though, formatting seemed to get lost in the number of ways that it has been cut and pasted, and I think there has been an assumption on how the ownership is transferred, in reality it's not quite so clear cut as I think it needs Mark to make changes at the DNS level to re-delegate the DNS access to someone.

This is off topic but if we actually did the system which applies to the senior applications (with exclusion to external voting) then we'd actually get some sort of balance in the ratio. |
