this may be soon since it's been less than a week since the SMP release however serious issues has arised that we're planning on fixing with a second iteration. the current plan is: - converting SMPItems from a pure luck game into more of a grinding game like Borderlands is. - more methods of obtaining these items - new items and stuff - mob and item scalability so that the items will become more powerful as time goes on, this prevents people from getting sharp 10 swords at the beginning of the game. - crafting system and more non-vanilla QOL features
any ideas for items or of the like would be appreciated

Hell Armour. Makes you unable to get damage from any fire lava or heat source. (Like fire resistence) and gives you speed while swimming in lava like depth strider but for lava. To craft it you will need a Tubby drop (Demon Source) and if you put that on your armour on like a Smithing table or a custom crafting table. You can make the Hell Armour.

to add on this i'm currently creating a plugin in which i'm testing out creating some of these ideas. if you suggest in this thread, it might appear in the plugin. i'm planning on making the plugin open source so people can see what i'm up to.

being able to mix and match armor, not having set bonuses i disagree. i don't think there's any reason to remove full set bonuses as they reward the player with something extra for all the work they did for getting the full set. you can mix and match armor, just you won't get the bonuses. simple.

Not an item but more consistent dev team.
Just an example, keepinventory has been toggled off and on for the past days and its getting confusing on whether or not you actually have it when you die on a day to day basis.
Essentially, once you make changes stick to them. Announce if you are changing it back so its not a suprise

One thing that really disappointed me was that despite getting 30 zombies and skeletons consistently spawning in my base I've never actually seen a "Tubby". My take is that we should discontinue this entire idea and switch to general mob rare drops instead. Either make those "craft" up to something (that would be really nice), or them just being the items themselves. Better yet, if we can get the balancing right, I believe it's definitely possible to make some rare items yourself from the ground up using normal resources. That would be really cool to see as customization!
I personally am thinking of that "scaling" issue can be solved with a hidden mob-killstreak that resets when you die. Sure, it may seem grindy, but as it scales the rare drops would be more and more common up to a certain limit. (Trove Magic Find anyone?) Would like to hear feedback on this though, people may not like this as the system.

Okay, to expand on what I put earlier, (I was tired and didn't really want to form a argument)
SMP items are too op, some can make you fly, walk at 200% speed, etc. I don't have a problem with having "special" items because it adds something to the game but I don't think that having Items that enable you to fly as if you were in creative is a good idea. Also, these items are not even that rare and because of that smp players can become so ridiculously over powered that it really is not even survival anymore. Some stuff I want removed is the flight armour and the insane speed items. I am okay with some items having a low boost of speed but having items that enable you to travel 100+ blocks in literally seconds is just a bit to much. As for the flight armour, I want it removed entirely. Flight is not something I think survival should have in general it is already in the game and adding another mode of flight unbalances the trade of elytras and makes getting the ability to fly too easy.
SMP has a lot of potential and modifying the default vanilla feel of Minecraft is just fine, it gives players a reason to play on the server and it makes for some interesting game play. Just don't take it to far as it can and will start to make Minecraft's default items seem uselessly under powered.
