I have a copy of the old Nether server's map as well as the Woosh and TsuchiIwa maps that would have been used for the overworld.
This is just a simple suggestion to bring back some of the old maps for history's sake.

If someone has it, should bring back the old snake map from 2012.

Vouch, although we will need to alert players to save their builds if they built on the overworld.

That sounds horrific... when did we stop resetting the main world? flatlands has basicly become the main world almost nobody builds in the overworld Could be for multiple reasons. I always remember both maps being pretty balanced when it comes to how many people were on each one, but who knows because that was before we added plots (should've never been added in my opinion) and back then we'd use good maps and reset them both pretty much daily.

There actually always was a built-in protection system which players could request to be used, it was never used though because schematics worked. I just don't think that plots fit with the theme of the server at all because it's never been about "building stuff long-term," apart from the fact that you could load in schematics all the way back from 2011 whenever you wanted into the world after a reset and mess around with them. I recall a famous example of that being Mark's hotel. Although apparently the schematics were purged, which is another thing that sucks.

I hold the opinion that it shouldn't be the server's job to provide a plot system for people to be assigned their own protected lands, I think that they should have access to the regular worlds and a schematic system to save their works, and we have administrators to prevent it from turning chaotic. It's similar to the idea of cracked player verification, I don't think that it's the server's job to set up a possibly error-prone system for something which simply didn't need a system back in the day. Less is more when it comes to the server experience, and that simplicity was why this server was ranked so high back in the day. The amount of complexities that we have introduced into everything has been a significant contributor to decline, in my view.
