If you didn't vote Windows 10 because of the telemetry, privacy, or other technical related issues, I understand that. Part of what drove me to full time linux was that hoard of issues. When people say that Windows 7 is the best looking Windows (and still is the best looking Windows), I disagree. If you remove the ads from the picture, I think that Windows 10 is an objectively more modern-looking, user-friendly OS. The entire user interface actually looks like something that's acceptable by today's standards (as opposed to 7 or XP), and I think that revamping the settings app to be more accessible to everyday users while keeping control panel for power users was one of Microsoft's best UX decisions ever. Maybe my taste in design is different than yours, but I really don't understand why people like the Windows 7 UI more. That's an interesting take on the settings app. I've found it incredibly confusing why you would want half of the system settings in one application and the other half in another. To me it feels like they couldn't decide whether they liked Windows 7 or Windows 8 more and took the worst of both worlds.

I'm curious to see what the community thinks about various versions of Windows. For me, it would have to be Windows XP and Windows 7. - Windows XP was user-friendly, stable, and reliable on levels that no operating system has managed to achieve since then.
- Windows 7 had the best looking UI with the Aero interface. It was very user-friendly and incredibly reliable as well. I still use it to this day.
i have the same opinion. My first OS i ever used was windows xp. It was stable and good for older gaming. i also like the windows startup theme, its so eemotional . Windows 7 was also really stable and fast. I like the aero UI. I used it until march 2018 before i get my mac. Windows Vista also had the best look with aero and desktop wallpaper. Aero was introduced when Vista came. I didnt vote Vista cuz i wasnt able to install wireless drivers. I also like the "Hello Windows Vista/7" song.

My first OS was Windows 95 and I have used almost every Windows OS since then, including Windows 2000. For those who liked XP, you have Windows 2000 to thank for that as XP was based on it. Windows Vista was not a bad OS if you had fully supported hardware like I did. For me, it was a pretty and reliable OS. Windows 7 was based on Vista but I did not like the UI quite as much (mostly the taskbar styling). With Windows 8 things started getting ugly, and Windows 10 made the UI really ugly. I still put up with it though.
Also, Windows 98SE was a great OS. ME was an abomination that never should have existed.

Windows 98 was also heavily scrutinized when it first came out, because of stability and other reasons and people preferred Windows 95. The second edition fixed those concerns though. Unfortunately, Microsoft has forgotten how to fix concerns these days.
