I just built my pc literally yesterday and I had downloaded steam and stuff and everything was downloading good all the drivers and stuff, no issues there. However when it came time to download games on steam I keep getting this steam disk write error that pauses my queue and I have to keep resuming it and it is pissing me off. I have tried clearing the download cache, verifying the integrity of game files, running steam as an admin, to no avail. It is still giving me this error while I’m downloading GTA 5 as we speak.
Has anyone else experienced this before? If so, what did you do to resolve it?

Is the download location valid and does steam have access to write to the said directory? Other than Hathaway, I have no clue what the problem would be

Have you run a general disk check / benchmark? It doesn't happen that often, but you might have gotten a bad one.

usually i get that message when my drive is full, but since your pc was just built that's probably not it. you can try running steam as an administrator and see if that does anything (probably wont but sometimes it fixes it for other applications)

Sorry for such a late reply. I've tried these suggestions and unfortunately they didn't seem to work. I kept searching until I found the option of disabling window's active virus and threat protection and this (so far) has seemed to resolve the issue.
Thanks for the suggestions, though. I appreciate it.
