2 images in 2 days what yessir this here is called a globular cluster, and this particular one is relatively close to us at around 22,000 light years away, is estimated to be over 11 billion years old, and contains more than 300,000 stars! to the lower left if you look closely you can see a faint galaxy, NGC 6207, which is around 30 million light years away. this isn't an award winning image by any means, but i still think it's really cool. hope you enjoy tag list: @xwhitebeard Video Waspter fionn @w1z ???TheHour 1cloud_ tozzit burger Fleek Alco RS11 XenVoltz mattlawn elmon

That's really interesting: I have seen your previous pictures, but this is the first one that really made me think of the views you see in SpaceEngine. I didn't know you could get so close to that computed-generated perfection with amateur equipment.

Absolutely stunning! What Camera and equipment do you use? thank you! i use my grandfather's old canon 60D, a william optics zenithstar 61 for galaxies/nebulae/star clusters/lunar and an orion xt10 plus for planetary/solar. my mount is the ioptron skyguider pro (i will hopefully be upgrading this over the summer) and the imaging technique varies greatly depending on the target. i use 2 programs for the capturing process: astro photography tool and sharpcap. i get all my images and i stack them using deep sky stacker or autostakkert, then i refine them in pixinsight and photoshop. right now i don't have any filters, but i'm hoping to get a monochrome camera and some filters at some point to make my images go from stuff like this to stuff like this
