Recently the server has had server instability and some people are suspecting that the Carz plugin is responsible. Something about it makes the server start lagging excessivley
What are you thoughts?

It's almost like we should have a QA system to be able to test things like this...

It's not, if you go onto the server and check out the /timeings report and, it will tell you which plugins are causing the most amount of lag, and geuss what, carz is at the VERY bottom of it. One of the main plugins causing instability is actually skinsrestorer

We do have a QA system, I do personal tests because I wouldn’t want to suggest something that might harm the server. If you have a problem with the current QA system why don’t you try making your own one. I know you have developed things before and have most likely made mistakes with your code, it happens, nobody is perfect, fuck even AI isn’t perfect (yet). My point being that if your gonna keep on harassing people over something as small as a QA system or a deployment thingy, you should at least try to get the full picture of the process that the server goes through for updates and stuff. As far as I know, you are just somebody who hasn’t been on the server in ages and just lurks on the forums, and due to that you make assumptions about things that are incorrect due to you only seeing bug reports and stuff that are posted on the forums. End of rant, don’t @ me

End of rant, don’t @ me "We do have a QA system, I do personal tests because I wouldn’t want to suggest something that might harm the server." This is a contradiction. Personal tests != QA system, a QA server is something which mirrors the production server (with whatever changes are being tested). "If you have a problem with the current QA system why don’t you try making your own one. I know you have developed things before and have most likely made mistakes with your code," Wild1145 has offered to do QA. He has also offered to do deployment. He has also offered to do server/system administration. I don't think it's as much an issue as offering to help as it is to accept the help, but for what it's worth, it's a whole lot easier to test code mistakes when there's a system to do so. "My point being that if your gonna keep on harassing people over something as small as a QA system or a deployment thingy, you should at least try to get the full picture of the process that the server goes through for updates and stuff." Nobody is harassing anybody, and I don't see it as a small issue when server stability has generally been a relevant problem for literally years and has not been solved properly. The actual problem is that the server gets updated without the exact server first being put onto a formal QA server for it to be tested, which is where basic problems come in. And yes, that does go hand-in-hand with a deployment system, because you should be able to click a single button for the exact server to be able to be deployed to either a QA or production server for it to easily be able to be tested. "As far as I know, you are just somebody who hasn’t been on the server in ages and just lurks on the forums, and due to that you make assumptions about things that are incorrect due to you only seeing bug reports and stuff that are posted on the forums." The sad part is that I don't have to go on the server to know that there's a problem when there is a weekly new thread about server instability. A lesson has been able to be learned for years but yet it hasn't been learned yet and there will continue to be questions of "what's causing server instability" because there isn't a formal system in place.

We could but we have to patch the vulnerabilities that caused it to be removed in the first place.

Seth said the problem was because it wasn't updated. What? No. I actually asked Seth to readd it and then he said that it doesn't support 1.15. He did add it, it was on the server, it's just our server couldn't support it. That's the vulnerability, and the fact that it was severely broken. Then why not state that the first time? And it wasn't severely broken, if it was Seth wouldn't add it. No, the vulnerabilities were actually patched. Nick MoveCraft was brought in but it only supports up to 1.12 :/ This plugin was asked to be brought back in 1.15, but apparently there were vulnerabilities that were not yet patched. What? No. I actually asked Seth to readd it and then he said that it doesn't support 1.15. He did add it, it was on the server, it's just our server couldn't support it. We could but we have to patch the vulnerabilities that caused it to be removed in the first place. No, the vulnerabilities were actually patched. nick MoveCraft was brought in but it only supports up to 1.12 :/ Edit: Here's a chunk from the Updates section on SpigotMC Preface So before I get into anything, I want to clearly state this: This version of Movecraft only supports 1.10.2-1.12.2. You’re probably thinking, it’s been two years, and this plugin only supports 1.12.2? Well, unfortunately, yes, it has been two years and we’re still only supporting an outdated version of minecraft. That being said, work for 1.13/1.14 is already underway, so rest assured it will come soon. After the old maintainer (Baccayarro), left, I asked to continue the development of the plugin to which he accepted. I’ve been working since that point to improve performance, functionality, and stability throughout the plugin. This changelog is in no particular order, however I’ve highlighted some features I think people might find important. I want to emphasize that performance is drastically improved. I highly recommend trying the biggest crafts you can think of, I’ve personally tested blimps with 50k+ blocks with little to no impact on TPS. Seth said the problem was because it wasn't updated. And was the vulnerability. I had already said that But you said that after three posts Anyway ONT: carz isn't doing that much damage to the server
