Hello, so I have been getting this kind of rattling noise in my computer, sometimes it gets really loud, sometimes its just there. The fan spins for a few seconds and then the noise is made, and then again. Some noises are louder than others. Here is a short video of the noise coming from it. I located it to be the front of the computer. If any of you would like to help me, you can add me on Discord and we could video chat so you could see inside the computer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7EH63G1_O8And here is my Discord: Daniels#3127 Thanks.

It could be the ball bearings in your fan. In that case, you'd have to replace it unless you want to replace the bearings.
Can you tell us how old the PC is?

It is a few months old. Alright. Is it prebuilt or custom built? Either way it won't matter, however you might have made a mistake if you built it and the problem decided to happen now. In your video it sounds like something is stuck.

I'm thinknig it might be a cable or something just skimming across it. However, when I turn off the computer, while the fan is still going, the noise disappears for the last 5 seconds or so.

That probably means that when the fan is at its highest speed, it starts rattling. Check to see if your fan is secure onto the case, and are there any flash drives (usb, sd etc) plugged in? Also check to see if you have anything underneath or on top of the PC. When it's rattling, put your ear on the case and check if you can hear like a rough click, like a rock thrown off a piece of wood but softer.

SD - Okay Fan - Yes, check if it is tight enough.

The good news is, that it isn't the fan, but its the storage. I turned on the pc, and I had this black screen thing pop up, with like the ticking underscore, and I thought oh, the noise is gone. I see that the ticking thing is still there, so i press enter, and exactly when the windows logo pops up, the noise starts again.

Try getting an SSD to move everything onto and a windows install usb stick if you can get your hands on one.

If you’re drives are making a noise loud enough for you to hear it, it’s time to invest in a new hard drive. Like Ginlang said, an SSD is your best bet. They may be expensive for quality, but it’s better than having your drive die on you and losing all your data.

Let me just clarify, because idk if I did enough justice in the first post. I’ve had the same two drives for 6 years used in different PCs and systems, and they don’t make noise enough for me to hear it distinctly.
