Simple suggestion, for those who aren't aware there is a forum administrator/moderator exclusive board on the forums called the Recycle Bin. This board basically contains any thread which was moved out of public view, and to my knowledge would have 7+ years of history on it since that's how long I've known of its existence. Notably, this board not only contains the entire "Crew HQ" board since it was moved into it, along with the entire Telnet Admin lounge and Telnet Clan applications. For historical purposes, this would be a nice thing to have public as a read-only board, still to be used for forum moderators to use of course. I can't really think of any downsides to this and it would be a nice thing to have for transparency and historical records/archives.

Vouch.
As someone who previously used to have access to it due to my position as an archivist, I believe there is a lot of shit in there that really has no real reason to be out of the public view. I also believe it contains threads that could be used as evidence of corruption on this server, which should absolutely be made public.

Partial vouch, partial object. I agree the archived boards should be moved into public view. However, I don't think it's a good idea to move the main recycle bin into public view, because that's where all the off-topic posts and flame wars go, and I don't see anything coming out of that besides more off-topic posts and flame wars.

Vouch with this implementation strategy.

I think if the recycle bin was used for what it's intended, then I'd say no. It's there to remove flame walls, super off topic and spam and other shit. I don't think we need to care about that sort of content, I don't really object to it either way, just not sure what value we get from it if it's used 'Properly'

To move those posts to a separate area instead of deleting them implies there is some reason why we want them to still exist, and considering how old the board is, I see no reason why that can't be archived.

I don’t think this is really a good idea. Things are moved there for a reason, and when they’re moved there, it’s usually done with the understanding that those posts shouldn’t be seen by the public ever again. I object.

They are put in there for future references by forum staff in the event we need them.

The Recycle Bin has existed for over half a decade, it's not like forum staff are going to be referring to some recycled thread from 2014 anytime soon. There's minimal harm in making it a public archival.
