Sometimes when 1 player has something wrong with their nickname, and you do /nickclean. Everyone else who has &k or &0 in their nick also has to have theirs cleaned when they were following the rules.
I say we should make it so in 1.16, you can do /nickclean Player.

Vouch. Would be cool to see if it was just the command itself it assumes everyone, and if there's an argument provided then it's assumed to be that player. Doesn't seem like it would be a hard thing to add as well but a convenience to admins.
I don't mean to hijack the thread, but it seems like in general we have quite a different treatment across the team about nick colors/effects. Either it was just me being dumb and not noticing things but personally would love to hear a more concise definition on inappropriate nicks.
For example, I've seen admins cleaning nick even if just the nick was black. There were also instances of no action being taken in the exact same scenario. Underlining also seems to be on personal preferences. Same with obfuscation - some admins are fine with them if specified OPs still have visible characters in their nicks while others strictly prohibited.
Would like to hear feedback.

From my experience, if an OP asks to use a certain format for their nickname, most admins will allow it. Our conduct policy however does say that unreadable nicknames are not allowed. This was mostly for trolls who would nick themselves something you couldn’t do /realname on and spam the chat or something so they wouldn’t get banned. Now though, I’ve seen a pretty steep downfall in people using format codes in their nicknames that can get cleared in the cleans. I think we need to fix some things about this, but it’s not the most important issue right now. I vouch for the suggestion though, but I do see it becoming less useful because most of the time when an admin cleans a nickname it’s because the whole nick is &k. We cannot realname this person, thus forcing us to use the bulk clean.

I believe there was a command a very long time ago (gadmin was it called?) which had the purpose of giving you a hash for each nicknamed person so that you could see who was who, and given that such functionality exists, I don't see why this command can't just be made to work with that system so that you can remove the nickname for the individual rather than taking away everyone else's nickname.

Still exists In that case, it would be trivial to just add a nickclean to that command instead of just wiping everyone's nicknames.

I Vouch. I suggest we create /nickclean <player> [-a] where we can clean a specific player or if needed, have a -a flag for cleaning all nicknames, if needed.

dog - the quote was getting big so I’ll just tag you. I think it takes more effort to go into discord and look than it would to use the clean command. However, I rarely find myself needing to use the clean command these days. Idk if I vouched in my OP but I think it would be a useful command either way.

When TFM updates on the server you can optionally specify a player now.
